It was a dark, cold, rainy Glasgow night and I had the house to myself (which is rare!) My cousin who makes documentaries about football mainly (check out his YouTube channel) was helping me make a music video for my debut single 'Leave A Light On'.
Now I've never made a music video before and as it turns out, neither had my cousin! But between us we came up with something part arty farty, part serious and sultry slow-mo, giving you all-the-feels masterpiece. There's a random bike light that makes an appearance which had my mother in stitches the first time she saw it (cheers Mum) and actually the result is a collection of outtakes that we cobbled together from what was meant to be a video for a totally different song!
This is me looking deliriously happy even though we had been shooting for about a million hours and I was VERY tired.
Now it's worth mentioning that the artwork you see the background was especially commissioned by Ruby Moore who collaborated on this wee project. Ruby is based in Sofia, Bulgaria and this was a great cross-over experimental project. The individual artworks tell the story of Dido and Aeneas which was supposed to be what the original song referred to. Look, I know what you're thinking and yes you are correct. I am indeed a KULTURE VULTURE! If you don't know the story of Dido and Aeneas, it's pretty tragic and oh so dramatic.
Anyway the end result is pretty cool and makes me look like a bona fide rock star! YAS. So please... have swatch and tell me what you think.
Take it easy
